ARTShift: Artists Resonating The Shift + Kiva - loans that change lives

Kiva is a non-profit website that allows you to lend as little as $25 to a specific low-income entrepreneur across the globe. You choose who to lend to - whether a baker in Afghanistan, a goat herder in Uganda, a farmer in Peru, a restauranteur in Cambodia, or a tailor in Iraq - and as they repay the loan, you get your money back.

We invite you to join us on the team and together we can help alleviate poverty by empowering low-income entrepreneurs, helping them grow their businesses and improve their lives and the lives of their families. With teamwork, our impact can be greater than the sum of our individual efforts.

Once you're a part of the ARTShift lending team, you can choose to have a future loan on Kiva "count" towards our team's impact. The loan is still yours, and repayments still come to you - but you can also choose to have the loan show up in our team's collective portfolio, so our team's overall impact will grow!

One thing we can do as a team is to periodically choose an entrepreneur/activity for the team to fund and direct our loans to them until they are 100% funded. The funds are not disbursed to them until 100% of the loan amount they requested is received. This can sometimes take a while when depending on individual Kiva lenders to choose them. Together, we can help them get their funds faster.

The current entrepreneur the team is focusing on is Ama Quayenuwa from Ghana:

Ama Quayenuwa is a 40-year-old woman. She is married with five children who are currently in school. She lives with her family at Cape Coast in the central region of Ghana. She is a food vendor and sells banku. Banku is prepared from milled maize grains and it is taken with hot pepper or soup. She has many customers since it is enjoyed by many Ghanaian as breakfast, lunch and supper. She wants to use the loan to buy more raw materials like bags of maize, meat, fish, vegetables and firewood. She hopes to increase her income to support her children’s education. She has been in business for five years now. She belongs to the village called ‘Amen’.

Right now her loan amount is a little over 50% funded. She still needs $250.00 - that's 10 more loans.

Want to join us and help her get the rest of her funds so she can get started growing her business?

Join us here: http://www.kiva.org/team/artshift then visit Ama's loan page to make a loan. During the loan process, you will be asked if you want to choose a team to apply the loan to... choose ARTShift.

Once Ama's loan is fully funded, we can choose another entrepreneur to work together to fund. Any ARTShift Lending team member can suggest an entrepreneur for the team to help.

many thanks & blessings,
Luna
